Partner for planning and implementation
In autumn 2005, Luzerner Kantonalbank commissioned NTT DATA to prepare for system migration to the standard solution Avaloq as the new bank platform. “We wanted to put an end to the systems of many different systems working next to each other that had developed over the decades and to optimise our business processes, which could really only be done on a new platform,” explained an employee in the Logistics & Service department at Luzerner Kantonalbank. NTT DATA was also to support the changeover as the implementation partner.
Working more efficiently with a standard platform
After a good three years, on 5 May 2008, Luzerner Kantonalbank went live on Avaloq successfully with a big-bang introduction. Bernard Kobler, CEO of Luzerner Kantonalbank, is satisfied, “At last we have a completely rounded platform. We no longer have to duplicate data and we now have very few redundant systems. In addition: at the push of a button we have a customer’s entire assets on the screen within a few seconds.“
The project required all of NTT DATA’s competencies: developing the system architecture, defining business cases, business and technological processes, business warehousing as well as project management and coaching the bank staff. However, the main success factor was the good cooperation between the bank and NTT DATA, “Basically, the human factor was the biggest challenge of this Herculean task. A true project family formed over these three years. That really impressed me,” said Bernard Kobler, CEO of Luzerner Kantonalbank.
